On July 13rd, the Beijing Post Branch of China Post Group Corporation held a drone delivery test flight ceremony at the Mentougou Zhaitang Branch Post Office.
It is reported that the test flight was hosted by the Beijing Branch of China Post Group Corporation, the branch post office of Mentougou District and China Post Technology Co., Ltd. It aims to undertake the promotion of postal service efficiency in the mountainous area of Beijing by the new delivery method of drones and provide more convenient, accurate and rapid postal services for the government and people in the mountains. The drone that is responsible for shipping mail is the first to introduce the latest version of the UAV application platform independently developed by China Post Technology Co., Ltd., which consists of three parts: UAV, cloud service platform and operation APP. The simple operation realizes the automatic flight of the drone in the whole process, so as to improve the delivery timeliness, optimize the manpower configuration, and reduce the delivery cost.
The relevant person in charge of the post said that the mountainous area of Mentougou District reached 98.5% of the total area, and the Zhaitang branch of the post branch of Mentougou District was responsible for the delivery of the party newspapers, family books and mail parcels of the entire mountainous area. In recent years, in order to improve the efficiency of post in mountain areas, China Post Group Beijing Branch and Mentougou District Post Branch have continuously innovated the service concept, which transforms from relying on manpower delivery to using drones to provide delivery services. It is not only the strong practice of the central “precise poverty alleviation” and the "delivery to the countryside" policy, but also has greatly reduced the cost and risk of post transportation in remote mountainous areas, effectively saving manpower and material costs. It will not only deliver the party newspapers and letters of the party to the remote administrative villages in the first time, but also solve the "last mile" delivery problem of the masses in the mountains. On this basis, Beijing Post will also form a rescue team with China Post Technology Co., Ltd. based on the experience of this successful test flight, and incorporate drone delivery into the government emergency rescue system to quickly deliver emergency medicine and relief supplies to the people.
