Drone Sensors

The drone body is equipped with a large number of sensors to sense the information including the posture, navigation direction, speed, position, angular velocity, and energy of the drone, all to be transmitted to the flight control system. The common sensors are accelerometers, inertial measurement units, tilt sensors, current sensors, and magnetic sensors. Acceleration sensors: Acceleration sensors are a standard necessity for many drones and are primarily used to determine the position and posture of drones, playing a key role in controlling the drone flight. MEMS accelerometers have a variety of ways to sense motion postures and can sense the micro-motion of micro-integrated circuits. Tilt sensors: Tilt sensors are a combination of a gyroscope and an accelerometer and provide data for the drone flight control system to maintain horizontal flight. They play an important role in the stability monitoring during shipping and delivery of fragile items. Current sensors: For drones, the consumption and use of electrical energy is very important, especially in battery-powered situations. Current sensors can be used to monitor and optimize the power consumption to ensure the safety of the drone's internal battery charging and motor fault detection system. Magnetic sensors: Magnetic sensors provide critical information of the inertial navigation and directional positioning system for drones. Sensors based on the anisotropic magnetoresistive (AMR) technology have obvious advantages in power consumption compared with other sensors. In addition, they have high accuracy and short response time, very suitable for drones.
