According to foreign media reports on May 16th, five students from the Sigma Engineering Institute in Magodia, India, developed a drone called agrone to help reduce the burden on farmers working in the hot sun.

The drone uses thermal imaging technology to help farmers estimate crop conditions. At the same time, it can also be used to spray pesticides and other necessary materials. Currently, the drone can carry up to 500 grams of solids and about 1 liter of liquid, with a flight range of 500 meters, 200 feet (about 61 meters) above the ground, and is equipped with sensors that can detect the water content of soil. At the same time, it rotates at a speed of 36,000 rpm.

Udit Jagtap, one of the students of the design, said: "In contrast to drones made of carbon fiber at a cost of up to 450,000 rupees (weighing RMB 43.92 thousand), in order to make the cost-effective, we used polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and materials such as high-density polyethylene to increase the durability of drones at a lower cost. The cost of an "agrone" is about 20,000 rupees (about 1952 yuan)."
In addition, Jagtap said that they have been experimenting on campus and that agrone will soon be sold to farmers and will provide operational training.
