Recently, the reporter learned from the Shanxi Agricultural Machinery Bureau that in recent years, the number of agricultural drones in the province has increased significantly, and the operating area of drones has increased year by year. The industry is booming. Up to now, the province's agricultural drones has a total of 286 units, with a cumulative operating area of more than 3 million mu. It can be said that the results are gratifying and the prospects are promising.
Efficient plant protection is an important link to promote the comprehensive development of agricultural mechanization and is an important indicator of modern agricultural productivity. In 2018, it was the sixth year in which Shanxi introduced agricultural unmanned aerial vehicle plant protection technical equipment and carried out demonstration and operation of spraying drug by flight defense. Under the joint efforts of the agricultural machinery promotion departments at all levels in the province, the first half of the year has achieved 31-unit growth, and the flying defense operation area is 933,300 mu. In order to strengthen the demonstration and promotion effect, two UAV plant protection demonstration zones were established in Xinjiang County and Houma City, with a demonstration operation area of 6,000 mu, and 6 agricultural drones from different manufacturers were introduced to carry out plant protection flight defense test demonstration such as main crops and orchards, as well as technical performance verification of agricultural drones and comparative test work of different models of drones.
Driven by the project, many agricultural machinery promotion departments in Linfen, Yuncheng and Jincheng actively innovated, and explored new functions such as agricultural drone orchard pollination and leaf fertilizer spraying through experiments, vigorously expanded the application range and field of agricultural drones, and achieved positive results. At the same time, in line with the development concept of agricultural production in the new era, we will combine high-efficiency plant protection operations, demonstration pilots and UAV plant protection technology training with crop green prevention and control knowledge lectures, professional farmers' new technology training, and other concepts of benefiting farmers rural revitalization. The application of the agricultural drones has given it new content, and also provided new ideas and new methods for the next step of work.

We should continue to strengthen the introduction, testing, demonstration and promotion of new unmanned plant protection machines, promote the development of UAV plant protection technology in an intelligent direction, and help the province's agricultural mechanization production to develop in an all-round way, which will become a new direction for the development of plant protection technology, and will also open a new era of unmanned plant protection technology.
