More than 20 volunteers, five AEDs and two drones took part in a real scene simulation rescue drilling on Gulangyu Island on Sunday. It is understood that this should be the first time to introduce the drone "air-drop" AED rescue drilling in Xiamen.
Rescue by drone
"There's a suspected sudden cardiac arrest!" The distress signal was sent from the beach of Xiyuan Road. With the aid of the rescue release system, volunteers locked their positions and rushed to the site of the accident.
At the same time, the drone set off with the AED and "ran" in the air. Less than two minutes later, volunteers and drones converged on the site. AED landed firmly in the hands of volunteers. Volunteers immediately rescue the "patient", calmly grasping the golden rescue time.
The drone can carry 5 kilograms of weight, can last 20 minutes and can sail more than 1 kilometer, which is more than enough for the drone.
The most difficult part is the rescue drilling in residential area, which limits the range of drone activities because of its narrow space and heavy passenger flow.
But with the good cooperation of volunteers and drones, the drilling went smoothly. Drone can solve the problems of insufficient medical equipment and limited traffic when it is put into AED rescue.
During the drilling, the volunteers also carried out professional training and assessment, and popularized life first aid knowledge for citizens and tourists.
