When it comes to black technology, your first reaction may be that it's far from our lives. In fact, there are already a large number of black technology into our lives. This week we'll look at some of the black technology that's coming our way.

Dji released a new "Laser visible light fusion solution" at the 2020 InterGEO German International Mapping and Geographic Information Exhibition held from October 13 to 15. Don't be put off by the jargon: drone are equipped with a geographic mapping system of lidar and visible light cameras. Its purpose is to map the earth's surface and create a three-dimensional map.

To understand this technology, let's first talk about traditional geographic information mapping systems. I happen to know that traditional geographic mapping comes from an experience I had more than a decade ago. At that time, I helped China Mobile talk about cooperation with Autonavi, the only two navigation information providers in China at that time. Smartphone apps had already developed, and more and more people were using their phones to navigate. But for the two companies, mobile navigation isn't the most lucrative. The most lucrative is in-car navigation: putting a mobile SIM card inside the car to give it navigation capabilities.

I put a lot of effort into making the car navigation project work. The main difficulty lies in: one side is the big car factory, the other side is China Mobile, China Mobile and anyone talking about cooperation is always in the front, hoping to have a higher voice and exposure. But the problem is, working with the car factory, the car owner is the car factory user, not the mobile user, so you have to hide the movement behind it. I was doing a lot of coordinating work, rationalizing the move. Finally, China Mobile gave in and agreed to negotiate cooperation with the auto factory on behalf of Autonavi and Siwei.

Because of that, I was able to take a closer look at the industry. The then chairman of Autonavi, Hou Jun, told me the story of their surveying and mapping. Goldsiwei are two companies, each with hundreds of cars on the road every day, their job is to constantly collect information on the road. How do you collect it? While recording the road conditions, he filmed the video. Then the captured video will be taken back for processing, and marked on the map according to the video. When the road turns, where there are traffic lights, including roadside merchants' information, gas stations and other information will be recorded, which will be generated into POI information points for marking. These POI information enable our car navigation and mobile navigation to be used smoothly.
