Consumer drone giant DJI Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "DJI"), this time wants to completely take the plant protection market. Of course, its strategy is price war.
DJI has occupied 70% of the global market share in consumer UAVs, and its market position is untouchable. In order to avoid a positive confrontation with DJI, industry applications have become a good entry point, such as plant protection. However, with the entry of DJI and the initiative to launch a price war, this market is also showing a turbid situation.
In the agricultural drone market, XAG is the enemy of DJI, while other companies are ranked third and beyond. But DJI and XAG, who is in the first place, is still a mystery. At the same time, DJI said that DJI agriculture will break away from the goal of making profits, so that surrender part of the profits to the plant protection team and the farmers, and focus on improving the efficiency of the industry and building a closed loop of services.
Is it just that the gameplay in the consumer drone field can be copied to industry applications? More than one salesman said that after using the XAG drone, it is difficult to use other drones. This statement was confirmed by the drone pilots. A Hubei-based agricultural drone pilots told the First Finance that compared with the XAG, the DJI drone is relatively rough and the stability is not as good as XAG.
The aforementioned drone pilot also said that DJI is a company that will achieve the ultimate in cost performance, and the performance of drones far exceeds that of other drones at the same price.
This also illustrates the difference in style between the two companies: DJI is the initiator of the price war, aiming to harvest the market with cost-effectiveness; and XAG hopes to impress customers with products. Another difference between DJI and XAG is the sales channel. When initially entering the field of agricultural drones, XAG adopted a direct mode to spray pesticides for farmers. In other words, XAG acts as agricultural drone manufacturer and the plant protection team. DJI has always relied on dealers, and early consumer channels have spread all over the country.
Who will dominate the agricultural drone market? This issue has been discussed too many times by the industry. The competition among agricultural drone manufacturers is more than cooperation, and in front of the broad market space, it may be early to talk about market share.
